WHAT IS THE NEXT STEP AFTER ACCEPTING JESUS CHRIST AS MY PERSONAL SAVIOR?

Have you been touched by the great love of God toward you? Have you been drawn to Him who first loved us?  (We love him, because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19)  Have you felt the burden of your sinful life, and know you need a Savior?  (All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23)  Do you believe that your relationship with God is secure, not because of our faithfulness, but because of His?  (For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16)   Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Personal Savior?

If you have Praise God! (…likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth,…  Luke 15:7)  Welcome to the Family of God. (As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name. John 1:12)

You may now be wondering, What must I now do after accepting Jesus Christ as my Savior?  We will find the answers written in the Holy Bible, God’s  inspired message of love for us.

1. YOU NEED TO BE BAPTIZED. Baptism is a public commitment showing that we are burying our sinful life in surrender to Jesus and rising again to walk a new life with Jesus as our source of strength and ownership.  (We were, therefore buried with Him through baptism unto death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead, through the glory of the Father, we too  may live a new life. Romans 6:4)  When Jesus was instructing his disciples after he rose from the dead he said; (“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” Matthew 28:19

2. JOIN A BIBLE BELIVEING CHURCH. We need the fellowship and prayers of other believers. (Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Hebrews 10:25)

What should we look for in choosing a good church?

  • The Pastor will preach from the inspired Word of God, the Bible, and his life will show that he strives to practice a Christian life.
  • The church will base their beliefs upon the basics of Christian Faith which are:

ü     The Bible is the inspired Word of God.

ü     The Deity of Jesus Christ.

ü     The Blood Atonement for sin by Jesus Christ.

ü     The imminent Return of Jesus Christ.

  • The church will have an emphasis on reaching others with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • The members of the church will have the love of Jesus Christ showing in their daily lives and relationships.

These are only a few of the important things to look for in choosing a good church. Pray and be open to follow God’s leading.

 3. SEEK TO LEARN AND BE TRAINED IN THE CHRISTIAN LIFE. (Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:20)

4. DAILY PRAY AND GET AQUAINTED WITH GOD BY TALKING WITH HIM. You will find this to be a source of great power, strength and blessing as you continue in your walk with Jesus. ( And he spoke a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray and not to faint. Luke 18:1) When Jesus, our example was here on earth he often spent the night in prayer. (And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into the mountain apart to pray:.. Matthew 14:23)

5. READ YOUR BIBLE DAILY TO BUILD YOUR FAITH.  As praying is talking to God, reading the Bible is letting God talk to you. The more you read the Bible the more clearly you will see that Jesus is the center of the Word of God, and the more you will be drawn to be like Him. (So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17)

6. WITNESS FOR JESUS CHRIST DAILY. One of the greatest joys you will ever have in this life is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with someone else. (But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:8)   (Apostle Paul wrote; “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth;.. Romans 1:16)

Congratulations on accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, and becoming one of His disciples. This is the most important thing you will ever do in your life. There will be attaches and temptations from God’s enemy, but now you will not need to face them alone, for Jesus has promised to be strong for us.(Be confident in this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6)  (Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10)  (Jesus said; In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33)
